About
Project P.A.T.H. (Parkinson’s Access to Technology & Health) is a community-driven initiative to reduce disparities in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) care for underserved populations across Los Angeles County.

Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder in the United States, affecting nearly one million Americans (Parkinson’s Foundation, 2023). Progressive motor symptoms, cognitive decline, and functional impairment characterize the disease, demanding consistent, specialized care. However, many patients—particularly those from underserved communities in Los Angeles County—face barriers resulting in delayed diagnoses and suboptimal treatment. Additionally, existing PD resources are fragmented and not tailored to the language, cultural, and mobility needs of marginalized communities.
Project P.A.T.H. addresses these limitations by centralizing essential PD tools, delivering content in multiple languages, and bolstering adoption through hands-on community outreach. Through our digital platform, we hope to address persistent barriers such as financial constraints, transportation limitations, low awareness, cultural gaps, and limited digital literacy.
